When Gabi's mother takes her to the mall to look for a prom dress, they two end up having a really nice time together despite the fact that Gabi is worried her mother will make derogatory comments about her weight. Gabi finds a nice dress and they go out to eat together without any of the tensions or bad feelings that sometimes arise between them.
