Who is Petra from Fugitive Pieces and what is their importance?

Petra is the young woman that Ben has an affair with in Greece. She is described as a beautiful blue-eyed, blonde, who is uncertain of her path in life (she's only twenty-two). Although Petra willingly participates in the affair, she is the one to leave Jakob, but not before helping him discover the location of Jakob's lost journals.
