Michaela Beer is Jakob's second wife. At age twenty-five, she was much younger than her husband, and she was immensely proud of her Russian and Spanish Jewish heritage. Michaela and Jakob met in Maurice and Irene Salman's kitchen, where Jakob, a divorcé, instantly fell in love. She was a museum administrator with a passion for history.
Michaela helped Jakob get over his sister Bella's death, an event that was a major stumbling block in his first marriage. They then moved to Greece and settled into the Roussos ancestral home at Idhra, where Jakob wrote his life's story comprising (Book I) and finally began to write true poetry. The couple died in a tragic accident in Athens.
