What are News Reports?

Throughout the narrative, televised news reports represent and refer to the dangerously violent, socio-political circumstances in which the central characters are trying to live their lives. Chula's narrative descriptions, or summaries, of those reports frequently focus on the criminal activities of drug lord Pablo Escobar - his crimes, his imprisonment, and his death.
