How does the author use foreshadowing in Frostbite?

In Chapter Seven, Lissa thinks she has found proof of others who have her same power or spirit. This makes Lissa happy as she has always thought she was alone. This foreshadows a moment later in the book when Lissa will find someone else who has this same power.
