The memoir is told entirely from Ree’s perspective; indeed Ree’s perspective is a central component of the memoir’s function, which is to provide readers with insight into Ree’s life and the way she views things, building on the same unique perspective and experiences that draw viewers to her television show and readers to her blog. Ree draws on her blogging experience to establish this perspective – she uses the same detailed and personal approach to fully immerse the reader in her perspective.
