What does Sam do in order to help Frightful in the end of "Sam Takes Charge"?

Sam climbs up to the bridge and takes Oksi from Frightful, causing her to attack Sam and flee. Sam takes the eyas to a nesting box he has created and waits for Frightful to arrive and care for the baby.
