What is the author's style in Forward the Foundation by Isaac Asimov?

Asimov's narrator tell the story, Forward the Foundation, in smooth and flowing English. The dialogue is abundant and vivid, and he makes references to the dialect differences around the planet Trantor that figure so prominently in the previous novel, Prelude to Foundation.
