What violent incident occurs at the site of Marilyn Mason's apartment?

Marilyn Mason calls Jason when he is on his way to Zurich with Heather Hart. She insists that there is something she needs to tell him and that it will not take long. When he gets there, he sees immediately that Marilyn Mason is not in her right mind. They talk briefly before she opens a bag and tosses a Callisto sponge onto Jason's body. The creature embeds its feeding tubes into Jason's chest and even though he is able to remove the creature's body by pouring alcohol on it, the tubes are still inside him and cause him to lose consciousness.
