Bryce's grandfather points out an article about Juli Baker in the newspaper. Juli climbed an old sycamore tree that is located on a nearby vacant lot. It is old and twisted but when the owner wants to cut it down, Juli climbs it and vows to stay there to keep them from cutting it down.
