In keeping with Blau's lifelong passion for the study of anatomy, he has always felt a rush of joy and satisfaction when looking at the interior of a human or animal body. Since childhood, he has loved to look at "the organs placed perfectly in relation to one another, packed into a divine harmony" (157).
