When Blau visits Mrs. Mole, the widow of the great preservationist Mr. Mole, he is there under completely false pretenses. He just wants to discover the secrets of Mole's preservation techniques and hopes that by pretending to be interested in romance or sex with Mrs. Mole, he will gain access to these aims.
