In the vignette entitled “The Tongue is the Strongest Muscle," the narrator laments the predicament of native English speakers who are not bilingual. This is because the only language available to them is that which the rest of the world uses only when travelling. They are the only people without a secret language and as a result, she feels sorry for them.
