During the 1950s, Woody Allen was a writer for the succesful comedy television show, Your Show of Shows. In the 1960s, he worked as a standup comedian in New York City. After succeeding as a performer, Allen turned to the Broadway stage, where two of his comedies were discovered and turned into movies. In 1969, he directed his own movie, Take the Money and Run.
