Who is George Randolph from Flash for Freedom! and what is their importance?

George Randolph is a runaway slave. He is well educated and a brilliant speaker. When discovered escaped onboard a riverboat, George is shot and falls overboard, presumed dead. In the end, George is successful in his escape to Canada.
