Summary of chapter 15

In Chapter 15, Magaly arrives at school for an open house. She says Malu should have given her a chance to look over the family tree project before she turned it in, despite the fact that Malu got an A. Magaly talks with Selena and her mother, Mrs. Rivera, and clearly believes Malu and Selena are friends. Mrs. Rivera owns a dance studio and Magaly says she wants to attend a class to learn the huapango, a traditional Mexican dance. Joe's project is really good. He included names into the design of the tree trunk and the leaves. Malu compliments him on it. Malu finds Selena's project and notes that she had obviously worked hard at it. Selena says Malu and her mother are nothing alike, and asks if Malu's dad is as weird as Malu. Malu looks at the sign-up sheet for the talent show while Magaly talks to Ana. She asks Joe if he plays an instrument, and he says he plays guitar and piano a little, though he prefers visual arts. Malu signs her name and announces they are starting a band.
