Goliath is one of Thursday's greatest enemies, once responsible for obliterating her husband for a number of years. Goliath is responsible in this book for sending probes into the BookWorld. Not having the technology that would allow them to enter the BookWorld, Goliath is sending probes to try and find out how the BookWorld works. They plan to do a fictional tourism business, where people can pay money to be transported to their favorite novels. Thursday is distrustful of Goliath's interest in books, and is proved right when Goliath tricks her into helping them with the technology, then leaving her to die in an obscure oral story far away from other books.
