What is the first real memory Nori has in the novel, Fifty Words For Rain?

The first real memory Nori has is pulling up to her grandparents' house with her mother in a blue car. Her mother had given her her suitcase and a small satchel. She told Nori the house belonged to her grandparents and that she was always to be obedient. Then she told Nori to go up to the house, and she drove off as Nori walked to the gates.
