Who cares for Barta when Lukas goes missing in the novel, Fiela's Child?

When Lukas goes missing, Aunt Gertie stays with Barta. After searching until dark, they put Barta to bed, give her some wild-bughu tea, and see that she stays warm. Barta cries until she can cry no longer. Aunt Gertie, Sofie, and Malie see that there is food in the house to eat.
