How did Benjamin come to live with Selling and Fiela?

Fiela found Benjamin at her back door, where she heard the sound of his crying. She opened the door, and he was standing there. Somebody had left him there. That was almost nine years ago, and Benjamin was about three. Fiela took him in and raised him as her own.
