Who are Max and Adam?

Max is Grace's ex-boyfriend and the father of their daughter. While Grace was giving birth to Peach, Max was absent and being crowned home coming king. Grace loathes the idea that Max is able to go on with his life, while Grace has to be alienated from her social life after the pregnancy. When Grace returns to school, Max's friend Adam teases her and plays a recording of a baby crying in class. Grace responds by punching him several times in the face. While Adam bullies Grace, Max does nothing about it. Grace thinks that Max is spineless for not being able to stand up for her. Max's father made it clear that he would not pay for or have anything to do with the baby, and that Max is dating a good girl now. Max represents the double standards that work in favor of men, when a teen pregnancy occurs.
