Joaquin says that he feels as if his life is inside of a video game and that eventually he would level up until he needs to slay a dragon, and then he might win the game. He thinks that the game is over when he blows up and argues with his parents before leaving to visit his birth mother's house. The dragon that he must defeat is his own insecurity that makes him think that he must push away those he loves. When he fights with his parents, he lets the dragon win, and he thinks that his insecurity has devoured what possibility he had to be part of a family. He later discovers that the game is not over, and when he returns home, his parents are there to welcome him with open arms.
