How does the author use foreshadowing in Falls the Shadow?

In Chapter 42, Kenilworth surrenders and the Dictum of Kenilworth is written, effectively wiping out the Oxford Provisions. Llewelyn then meets with Henry at Montgomery and has a discussion with Edward about Simon's widow and children. These conversations foreshadow the future struggle between these two men.
