Significance of Roland Deschain

Roland Deschain is the central character in “The Little Sisters of Eluria.” Roland is cared for by the Little Sisters after he has been attacked by green men who have invaded a village. Roland learns that these women are not who they appear to be. Instead of being sisters of mercy, they nurse their patients back to health intending to kill them and suck their blood. Roland escapes the Little Sisters with the help of Jenna, a sister who has rebelled against the cult and fallen in love with Roland.
