How does the author use foreshadowing in Everyman, and Medieval Miracle Plays?

In Part I (the Introduction), the editor points out that the majority of the plays focus on stories about Jesus from the New Testament, as well as stories from the Old Testament that clearly foreshadow Jesus' birth.
