What is the author's style in Evermore: The Immortals by Alyson Noel?

The story is written in an informal tone with a fairly fast pace. The action moves quickly without becoming bogged down in detail. The reader with an average vocabulary will probably encounter no more than a few unfamiliar words. The tone is one of fear and guilt though with undertones of hope and love. Because the story is presented in first person, the reader is led to believe that Ever is responsible for the accident that killed her entire family.
