Etched in Sand
Is the author a reliable narrator in the memoir, Etched in Sand?
.
.
Regina seems to be a reliable narrator, admitting her own weaknesses and moments of hopelessness. She made mistakes and considered the moment she alerted child services to their plight as one of her major errors. She openly admitted that she and her siblings had stolen things, though the majority of these were items necessary for their survival. She and her siblings were sometimes homeless and often dependent on the kindness of strangers for their everyday needs. They dug through dumpsters filled with donated clothing in order to provide themselves with clothing warm enough to survive their harsh living conditions.
