Who is Kemp, and what is his connection to Kath and Ed?

Kemp is Kath and Ed's elderly father. He lives with Kath in the house, and although we don't know his exact age, it is suspected he is in his 60s or 70s. He is bigoted and homophobic, and mostly unable to see. He is also referred to as The Dadda.
