Daughter of the elfin king, Laurana, is the leader of the army opposing the Dark Queen. Laurana is unsure of herself and feels her position is politcal rather than based on proper war strategy. Decribed as good and honorable, Laurana falls in love with Tanis but feels herself unworthy.
