Who is Brianna Randall from Dragonfly in Amber and what is their importance?

When Claire returned through the standing stones in 1945, Brianna had already been conceived. She was Jaime Fraser's daughter, but Frank Randall raised her like his own. Brianna, however, is the spitting image of her father. Claire does not tell Brianna that Frank was not her biological father until after his death.
