Who is Benjamin Ruggiero from Donnie Brasco and what is their importance?

Ruggiero (Lefty Guns) is Pistone's partner. He is a made member of the Bonanno family, and the owner of a social club located in Little Italy. After Pistone's identity is revealed, the FBI is able to move Lefty into protective custody.
