How does the author use foreshadowing in Don't Look Now?

John and Laura wrongly speak about the twins as possible murderers..... perceiving them as dangerous. These preconceived notions were completely incorrect. John also perceives the dwarf as nothing more than a small child.... this misconception leads to his death.
