Who is Evgraf from Doctor Zhivago and what is their importance?

Evgraf is Yuri's brother (half-brother), who assists him in his time of need. He hold an important position in the new government, and uses his influence to look out for his brother. Evgraf accompanies Lara to Yuri's funeral.
