Who is Delora from Debt of Bones and what is their importance?

Delora is a sorceress and Zedd's protector. She is loyal to the Midlands and assists Abby in gaining an audience with Zebb, after Abby's husband and daughter are taken. Delora accompanies Abby when she goes to find her family.
