In Chapter 10, Quan writes to Justyce. Why is he feeling conflicted?

In Quan’s letter to Justyce, he tells him he is overwhelmed with gratitude for what Trey is doing for his family. He says he feels conflicted because he owes the group so much and wants to make it up to them when he gets out, but he does not want to be involved in criminal activity
