The speaker in the poem, Alfonso, in Snow talks to himself telling him he is alive and must listen. The speaker notices that something unnamed runs down the street but falls and does not get up. The speaker runs with his legs and hands behind his pregnant wife and says it only takes a few minutes to make a man.
