Manfred is Iris's 16-year-old husband. He goes by the nickname, Man, which is somewhat ironic since he is still a teenager. When Mrs. Capon goes missing and Manfred tries to kill Dot for her relationship with Iris, it implies that Man is responsible for Mrs. Capon's death too. Man ends up having an affair with Mrs. Boring and they return to the mainland and live together. When Mrs. Capon's body is found, the police focus on Man as the prime suspect.
