Arctic dies a horrible death at Darkstalker's command, and this symbolizes the depth of Darkstalker's evil and the hateful relationship between Darkstalker and Arctic. Darkstalker believes that killing his father in such a gruesome public manner will make him feel better and will also earn him the respect of the NightWings. Neither happens.
