How does the author use foreshadowing in Dancing at the Rascal Fair?

The novel is written in past tense as Angus recalls events from his life. There's an instance of foreshadowing in the opening of the novel when Angus says that Rob, "in those times," was light-hearted about any situation, and Rob is referred to a "you" in that sentence.
