How does the author use foreshadowing in Dance of the Gods?

In Chapter Twelve, foreshadowing is indicated in the way Riddock accepts Cian and how the others who are not from Geall are introduced. There is a bit of suspicion and concern, but because Larkin and Moira vouch for them, Riddock accepts them at face value.
