Significance of The Carved Beasts

The carved beasts are elaborate decorative carvings in the Hewn City. The “twining, serpentine beasts” are a symbol of the dangers and terrors of this place. The Hewn City is the symbol of what most faeries expect from the entire Night Court, but it is meant only to be a distraction from the peaceful, wonderful lives most of the Night Court faeries lead.
