Johnnetta Cole grew up in Jacksonville and experienced racism first hand. She is an anthropologist, educator, and activist. She was also the first black, woman president of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Mary describes Johnnetta as an Afro-American beauty with long bones, a finely molded skull, honey-colored skin, and blue-green eyes. Her goal as a college president is to create lasting change.
