Who is Ambiorix from The Conquest of Gaul and what is their importance?

Ambiorix, leader of the Euborenes, instigates of the massacre of Sabinus and his army. After Sabinus' legion is massacred, Caesar marches on the Euborenes, who do not offer armed resistance. Caesar destroys Ambiorix's territories..... leaving them a wasteland.
