Harry's mother, Frieda Rubinstein, is a survivor of the concentration camps. When she went to Israel after the war, she met her husband, married him, moved to England, and then to the United States. Frieda worked as a seamstress in the sweatshops to help support of the family, and she is thrilled when Olympia invites her to The Arches ball. The ball represents everything that was denied to her as a youngster.
