Who is Timothy Bruce from City of the Beasts and what is their importance?

Timothy Bruce is a photographer for International Geographic. He's a professional photographer and is at home in the jungle. He is responsible for taking photographs of the expedition and hopes to return with photographs of the Beast. Timothy actually captures photos of the fight between Carias, Captain Ariostos and the natives. When Captain Ariostos tries to take his film, Professor Leblanc distracts Ariostos for a short time and Timothy switches the film so that he returns to civilization with photographic evidence of the soldiers' killing the natives.
