Who is Cockie Birkbeck?

Cockie is a distant relative on Beryl's mother's side and sees Jock's reaction to Beryl's affair with Boy the first time she and her husband, Ben, visit Jock and Beryl at the farm. Cockie, who is having an affair with Karen's husband, Blix, gives Beryl advice. Later Cockie helps Beryl when Beryl escapes to England and helps her get an abortion. When Karen grants Blix a divorce, she marries him and takes on the role of Baroness that Karen valued.
