Describe symbolism in Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy

One main symbol in the novel is the Westlands Estate. The estate represents affluence, entitlement, and power to the people of Knockglen. For Eve, however, the estate in its existing condition, symbolizes pain and abandonment.
