The Great Nest is the center of all spider life. It shows every stage of their evolution, from small hub to bustling metropolis. It grows, shrinks, and adapts based on the spider’s problems or posterity. It is the center of two different wars, one against the ants and one between the spiders themselves. Over time, the Great Nest becomes a symbol of all spider society, as it is one of the first pictures Bianca sends to Kern once they finally begin communicating to each other.
