Comment on language / style

The language of the novel is highly technical, relying heavily on scientific studies and complex patterns of thought. This is especially apparent during the spider’s story, as each new development in their society must be explained to the reader. This includes things like Understanding, peer groups, their complicated relationship with the messenger, and so on.
