Who is Sterling Grooms from Chasing the Dime: A Novel and what is their importance?

Sterling Grooms has been working for Amedeo Technologies and Henry longer than anyone other member of the staff. He signed on with Henry right after completing his post doctorate at UCLA and currently holds the title of lab manager. He is a few years younger than Henry and has received substantial offers from Henry's competitors. In return for his loyalty, Henry gave Grooms points in the company and a seat on the board of directors. He also shares in the patents.
